Sunday, 22 January 2017
8am - 3pm
Castlepoint, Masterton-Castlepoint Rd, Masterton, Wairarapa
Take up a rare opportunity to explore historic Castlepoint Station this Wellington Anniversary Weekend. Grab the kids and the bikes, and explore this iconic sheep and beef station by biking one of three amazing coastal tracks.
Choose from a 7km short loop; a 14km long loop via the beach or a 20km course option that covers the lined road to Otahome and back.
Bring a picnic and take a break on the Station’s tranquil beach (long and lined road courses only) and don’t forget your camera!
All riders must have a reasonable level of fitness and mountain biking ability. The courses are unsuitable for riders who haven’t mountain biked before.
But make sure you’re back at the Castlepoint beach resort to catch a glimpse of world’s leading road cyclists finishing stage one of the New Zealand Cycle Classic. Race due to finish between 1:30 pm - 2:15 pm and there’ll be a chance to meet the cyclists afterwards.
Riders will be unable to enter Castlepoint Station after midday and must be off the station by 3 pm.
